Brian Banks tells the inspiring and powerful true story of a young man named Brian Banks who overcame incredible odds to reclaim his dream of playing professional football, after being wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit.

The film begins by introducing us to a promising high school football player named Brian Banks, who has dreams of playing in the NFL. However, his dreams are shattered when he is falsely accused of rape by a fellow student. Despite his pleas of innocence, Brian is convicted and sentenced to prison.

While in prison, Brian never loses hope and maintains his innocence. He spends his time educating himself, reading law books, and corresponding with legal experts who eventually take on his case pro bono. With their help, Brian's case is reopened, and evidence proving his innocence is discovered.

After spending five years behind bars, Brian is finally exonerated and released from prison. He finds himself facing a world that has moved on without him, but he remains determined to regain the lost time and pursue his dream of playing football. However, his wrongful conviction makes it difficult for him to find a team willing to take a chance on him.

With the support of his lawyer, Justin Brooks, and his loving mother, Leomia, Brian refuses to give up. He attends tryouts and gives it his all, showcasing his talent and determination on the field. Eventually, he catches the attention of a coach who recognizes his potential and offers him a spot on the team.

As Brian joins the team and begins to prove himself on and off the field, he also becomes an advocate for criminal justice reform. He shares his story and educates others about the flaws in the system that can lead to wrongful convictions.
